Covid 19 Response

Chinese Medicine Peterborough is committed to providing a clean, safe, inclusive and comfortable clinic space for patients.  The health and safety of patients and our community is of utmost importance.  Guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health, Public Health Ontario and the College Of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture of Ontario have been implemented to reduce the risk of Covid 19 transmission.

These guidelines include increased clinic cleaning and disinfecting protocols, appointment pre-screening, staggered appointments to limit patient numbers in the clinic, hand hygiene, use of PPE (masks and gloves), telehealth appointments, and streamlined check-in and check-out procedures.

Please review the information below before your in-person appointment and contact the clinic if you have any questions or concerns.

PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

First and foremost, do not come to the clinic if you are experiencing:

  • a new or worsening cough

  • fever

  • shortness of breath

  • other symptoms consistent with Covid 19

You will receive a Covid 19 pre-screening survey via email 24 in advance of your appointment.  Please complete it before coming to the clinic.  If you are feeling ill please contact the clinic to discuss canceling your appointment or switching to a telehealth appointment.  Contact Public Health Peterborough (705-743-1000) if you suspect you have been exposed to Covid-19 or have Covid 19 symptoms.

You must wear a mask in the clinic.

A clean re-usable cloth mask is appropriate.  Extras will be available at the clinic in case you forget.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

The clinic waiting room is closed!

Please wait outside the clinic or in your car.  You can let me know you've arrived in the following ways.

  1. Text or call 705-808-3894.

  2. Online self check-in.  Go to chinesemedicineptbo.janeapp.com/checkin  or scan the QR code with your smartphone.  The QR will be placed on the window of the main entrance (Rubidge St.).  The schedule will alert me to your arrival.

I will text or call you to let you know when you can come upstairs.

Only use the Rubidge St. entrance to come upstairs.

NEW CLINIC PROCEDURES

You must wear a mask in the clinic.

Please bring your own clean re-usable mask.

  • Clean your hands upon entering and exiting the clinic. Hand sanitizer will be supplied.

  • You will be asked Covid 19 screening questions again and may have your temperature taken.

  • You will then be directed to your treatment room.

  • You will be asked to sign an additional Covid 19 consent form each time you come to the clinic.  Even though all precautions have been taken to provide a clean and safe environment, there is an increased risk of exposure with in-person appointments.

Have more questions?  Don't hesitate to contact the clinic so we may help.

LOCATION

The clinic is located at 308 Charlotte St, on the northwest corner of Charlotte and Rubridge streets.  There is a municipal parking lot located behind the building, or if you’re lucky you can find free parking along Rubridge (north of Charlotte) or on Simcoe St.  There is a bus stop steps away from the clinic entrance as well.

We are located on the 2nd floor of Synergystix.  You can enter through the side door on Rubidge St. (329) across from the Publican Restaurant.  This entrance is shared with the Foot Care Clinic.

Please note:  If you have mobility issues and are unable to manage climbing a flight of stairs (13 stairs to be exact), please call the clinic to make special arrangements to be treated on the main floor.  We will do our best to accommodate you.  It is important to call in advance, as it is unlikely that a room will be available on the main floor last minute.
